Welcome to Highlights Minerals

Taking 2015 a step at a time while looking at ways to develop our offerings has helped FLSmidth to not only maintain its position in the market but strengthen it as well. FLSmidth people are renewing their dedication and bringing new technologies to light for the minerals industries. Efficiency programs are streamlining costs, training programs are being conducted, and our organization is being finely tuned to keep and grow our competitive edge. Read more about what FLSmidth is doing in strengthening our position in the minerals market on page 4.

We don't only work with customers and engineering firms; we meet with governing bodies, environmental agencies and industry specialists, including recently the Mongolian Mining Minister to assist in clearing the path for Mongolia's resources (page 7). And on page 8, read how receiving ISO and OSHA certifications provides us with quality credentials to stay at the forefront of industry requirements, while attaining ATEX Zone 20 certification (page 9) has opened doors into new regions for our Fuller-Kinyon® pump line.

Learn on page 11 how a product rejuvenation project led to innovations in screening technology that have already proven successful at a number of sites. Taking learnings from one region and applying to another gave Indian customers a chance to evaluate low-grade ore fines and achieve excellent results with our REFLUXTM Classifier (RC) pilot unit (page 14).

The design of the new MAAG® compact vertical gear (page 20), makes it ideally adapted for the coal industry.

We are working together with developers and site personnel to understand and characterize ore mineralogy, optimize processes, and design flowsheets that are customized for attaining the best solution out of the available resources. See how benchmark testing and "conceptual engineering" led to a successful commissioning at the Teghout plant in Armenia on page 16.

We are listening to customers to understand their needs. We continue to service, maintain, upgrade, modify, and install equipment that keeps plants running efficiently and cost effectively. Read about our thickener modifications and repairs on site in Western Australia on page 27, and new nextSTEPTM rotor/stator flotation innovations on page 30.

We trust you will enjoy this edition of Highlights Minerals. As always, feel free to contact us to see how we can help you boost your plant performance and design solutions to suit your specific needs.
